You can practice
a scene...OR, you can
practice your audition.

FROM THE PARKING LOT, TO THE AUDITION ROOM...AND BACK AGAIN

PRACTICING THE AUDITION:  What does that mean?

In order to deliver a seamless audition that represents your best
self, I firmly believe you must ALSO practice & strategize for:

  • What to do in the Parking Lot.
  • What to do in the Waiting Room.
  • Practice Entering the Audition Room.
  • How to Take Adjustments.
  • Making an Exit, or How to Walk Away From It
    and LIVE YOUR LIFE!

PRACTICING A SCENE: What does that include?

  • The objective? Check.
  • Character choices? Check.
  • Style of the material? Check.
  • Your lines? Obviously.

When you do all of these things, you will leave feeling fully PREPARED and INSPIRED to DO YOUR BEST WORK and BOOK THE JOB.

I have studied numerous styles of acting all over the country, from Meisner to Sense Memory, from Commedia Dell'Arte to Improv, from Shakespeare to Pina Bausch Tanztheatr, et al.

I've been studying, auditioning and performing professionally since I was 8 years old.  I refuse to tell you how old I am now!

My strongest acting influences are Gregory Berger-Sobeck at The Berg Studios, my teachers at Lee Strasberg/NYC and Shakespeare & Company/MA, and the time I spent training at The Groundlings Comedy Theatre & School. I recommend studying with ALL of them.  I've also trained with wonderful teachers at Bramon Garcia Braun Studios (BGB), Deb Aquila/Wood, iO West, LA VoiceJoy.

My current home is at The Antaeus Company, where I perform and train with the likes of Geoffrey Wade (Shaw, Coward & Wilde), John Achorn (Commedia), Armin Shimerman (Shakespeare) and Fran Bennett (Linklater Voice).  I regularly teach Dialects, Improv, Acting Technique, Creative Writing and Musical Theatre Dance Technique all over the country.  I run the Stupid Songs Musical Comedy Troupe, whose shows I direct (www.stupidsongsla.com). I also direct all the voice-over sessions for the podcast SERIOCITY.
