4)         CHARACTER vowel (sounds like “care”).

Practice:  marry, carried, clarify, character, carrots, tarot, parrot, paragraph

5)        TERRIBLE (like tare): very, terrible, terrorist, heritage

6)        HORRIBLE (like the word or):  horrible, incorrigible, warrantee

7)        “NT” in the middle of a word:  say ‘bye’ to the /t/.

Practice: Pardon the inneruption. winter=winner, entertain=innertain, center=cenner, etc.

HEAVIER SOUND CHOICES:

DRESS can be dray-uss.  Practice: I left (lay-uft). My head (hay-uhd) hurts.

WISH can be wee-yush. Practice: You wish (wee-yush)!

-ing endings: drop the /g/! Practice: I’m askin’ you where you’re goin!
